PI Score Calculation
The Public Interest (PI) Score is a standardised measure that reflects the size and complexity of a company, used to determine appropriate fee structures for restructuring engagements.
Higher scores indicate greater complexity, stakeholder impact, and regulatory requirements.
Score Components
Example: A company with 50 employees, R30m turnover, R20m liabilities, and 3 shareholders has a PI Score of 103.

Small Companies
From R300k
+ success fee
Typical Profile
- 15–40 employees
- R10m–R40m turnover
PI 100–499
Medium Companies
From R500k
+ success fee
Typical Profile
- 50–150 employees
- R50m–R250m turnover
Success fees are capped at 50% of the base fee and are only payable upon successful implementation of the restructuring plan.
